Does chicken noodle actually help fight a cold?

Hi im so sick right now im coughing and runny nose and congested. I just finished eating a bowl of chicken noodle soup. I need to get better by tomorrow what should i do. Nyquil made me worse. I want to get better by sunday so i can go to church.
