Is now a good time to buy a Ford, GM, or Mercury? What if I have terrible credit?

The manufacturers are separate from the lenders. Forget about which car you should buy. Lenders are not lending to people with bad credit unless you have a substantial down payment (around 50%) and the car makers have no say in the matter. Pay cash for a cheap car out of someone's driveway.
